This young boy, after being adopted by Paul and Clara, grew to be a living genius. Everyone knows him as Steve Paul Jobs. His biological mother only let Paul and Clara adopt him because they promised that he would be set to college to further his education.
Growing up Steve became a terror in school, finding his classes to be boring and not challenging enough. Although, one of Steve’s teachers was able to ignite a spark in him which changed his desire to learn. Steve said, “She was one of the saints of my life. She taught an advanced fourth grade class, and it took her about a month to get hip to my situation. She bribed me into learning.”
Another set of influential people in Steve Jobs life were some HP engineers. They were the first group of people that introduced the young boy to the growing world of electronics. This quickly grew into Steve’s number one hobby.
As promised by Paul and Clara Jobs, Steve went on to further his education at Reed College in Oregon. This choice in colleges was one of the most prestigious and expensive schools at the time. Even though the college was an exceptional liberal arts school, Steve said,
“After six months, I couldn’t see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn’t interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.
It wasn’t all romantic. I didn’t have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends’ rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it.” (Stanford commencent address, 12 June 2005)

Threw the span of dropping out of college till October 5th 2011, Steve accomplished and achieved impacting products and ideas that will resonate in history forever. From the first apple computer to the more recent Ipod, Iphone, Ipad the way we view technology will never be the same, thanks to the creative mastermind the Steve Jobs was.
Although Steve dropped out of college he continued taking a calligraphy class in which he said, “If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts.”
